As a Holistic Health Coach, I believe in the body’s natural ability to heal!

Hi! I’m Megan and this is my family!
As you can see, we spend most of our time in nature, outdoors and yes… the dirt!
Healing begins on the fundamental level, very basic, yet necessary for the body to have a solid foundation to thrive!
My goal as a mom is to keep my girls as connected to the earth and the natural world as possible.
But being a mom is the most humbling and difficult job I’ve ever had.
This modern world can be a hard place for a mom trying to balance everything in life, including herself.
As a Certified Natural Foods Chef and Holistic Health Coach, I have spent over a decade studying holistic wisdom from around the world. Seasonal foods, herbs, sunlight, being barefoot on the earth, and taking in healing breaths is a fundamental way to access thriving health.
However, after being postpartum, my mental health was in a dire place for years.
Debilitating anxiety and depression engulfed me and no amount of food, herbs, or meditating could pull me out- trust me I tried it all!
There was nothing more clear to me than a very strong awakening I was going through- jolting me with the reality of unprocessed traumas and life patternings that were keeping my nervous system in a hypervigilant loop.
Once I started to process past traumas, and heal myself deeply through my emotional body while applying the proper food, herbs, and lifestyle practices, I have climbed one step at a time out of the darkest place in my life.
With this new perspective, I began applying it to my client’s work and experience profound shifts within their health too!
Faster, quicker and more profound than ever before.
This connection of addressing the root cause through the emotional/energetic body can finally stop the loop many of us are stuck in, which chronically wears at the physical body.
It was my first hand experience with the mind/body connection which I studied for years through ancient wisdom.
Applying this to our modern world, especially as a mother, has been such a gift and something I look forward to sharing with you as a client or as a listener of the Modern Sage Podcast (soon to come!)
Thank you for taking this time to learn about me and I am excited to continue this journey through Modern Sage!
Hi Megan, I learned about you from a woman in the Katy area who had you come to her house. I am very interested in “possibly’ becoming a food coach. The problem is I am having a hard time finding information about it as a career choice. I was thinking about attending the Raw Food Institute’s immersion week and following it with their 12 week online course for raw food educator. However they don’t seem to be very forth coming about what I can expect financially if I were to choose it for either part time or full time career. I realize your qualifications far out weigh what mine would be even with the certification…but I am passionate about it and have been reading everything I can about the field. Do you know anything about the Institute I mentioned and can you give me any encouragement about getting into this field as a career. I’m 57 and have had other satisfying careers, Interior Design for 20 years, (not for the last 12 years) and others, I’m a good self starter, and would like a career I could use anywhere in the country…..Texas is too hot for me, I’m originally from Maryland and would like to move back east soon. Anything you tell me will be very much appreciated. Your site is AWESOME!!!
Thank you,
Penny
